Scholarship Application
Criteria for $1000 College Scholarship:
- Applicant must be between the ages of 16 and 19.
- Applicant must document plans to attend, or proof of attending a higher education
program of at least 6 months duration. - Applicant’s financial need.
- Applicant’s academic achievement and potential.
Applicant must provide evidence, in a manner which can be confirmed with AKC
records, of their interest and participation in showing Cavalier’s by competing in a
combination of Junior Showmanship and dog show breed or performance competition
in a minimum of 5 events within the past 2 years - Applicant should include information on additional activities with a Cavalier i.e. regional
club, therapy, rescue, education, etc. This information will be used in deliberation
process but is not a requirement to qualify for the award. - Applicant must submit a 1-2 page essay describing his/her experience with and interest
in Cavalier’s and plans for future involvement with the breed. - Applicant must complete a minimum of 10 hours community service before the
applicant sends their application to the club and send a record of their hours along with
an official advisor’s signature approving the community service. (Examples listed but not
limited to: Food Banks, Pet Shelters, Hospitals, Schools, Nursing Homes, etc.) Applicant
should receive approval of community service by current ACKCSC Junior Chair before
the junior begins their hours of service. - Applicant must apply on an official ACKCSC application form.
- This scholarship will only be awarded once to an individual, but you may apply multiple
times before the scholarship has been awarded. - All personal application information will remain confidential.
- Application and requested information must be postmarked no later than December
31 for award in the following year.
