Rally & Obedience (Wed)

Catherine M. Thompson

Catherine acquired her first Rottweiler in 1969. She has served as President, and in other positions, for the American Rottweiler Club. She is a sought-after speaker, judge's education instructor, author, and co-presenter of the Breed Study Group at the ARC Nat'l Specialty.

Catherine has earned many “firsts” in the Rottweiler breed, and has been involved with Obedience as a competitor, trainer, and judge. She is approved by AKC to judge 6 breeds, and all levels of obedience & rally. She is the only AKC breeder/judge of Rottweilers that has personally trained and titled her Rottweilers in all AKC performance events.

Kathleen Cook

My husband Mike and I acquired our first AKC registered dogs in 1976 and, together, we started MIKA German Shepherds. As a result of having large breed dogs, I began reading books on how to obedience train my dogs. “Formal” training at a local training club ensued, and I began showing in obedience in 1985. My training interests have expanded over the years to include Obedience, Tracking, Agility, Rally Obedience, and Schutzhund/IPO/IGP.

I am a member of several local training clubs and the German Shepherd Club of America. I own a training business, Blue Ribbon Dog Training Academy.
