Canine Good Citizen tests provide an opportunity for Cavalier owners to demonstrate the versatility of their dogs. In conformity with the Breed standard, they show that the dog is fearless and sporting in character, while gentle and affectionate. Cavaliers must demonstrate that they are gay, friendly, and non-aggressive, with no tendency towards nervousness or shyness. Bad temper, shyness, and meanness are not to be tolerated. These characteristics are tested by the CGC test.
CGC Workshop
The ACKCSC will offer a hands-on workshop to teach the skills required for the CGC and Advanced CGC tests. This workshop will allow participants to ask questions and observe procedures, to practice the necessary skills with their dogs, and to experience a performance setting with assistance on how to perform each test successfully. Canine Good Citizenship testing will be held on April 13th.
