LU DUNHAM (ACKCSC National Specialty)- I am a retired emergency room nurse and 2019 marks the 40th anniversary of me "doing dogs".  Early on, I had Shelties, breeding and showing in obedience, agility and conformation. After a back injury and several surgeries, showing Shelties was no longer possible – the doctor said that I couldn't lift them onto a table!

Not wanting to give up showing and breeding dogs, I began to search for a new breed to fall in love with. In January 1996, as Cavaliers became recognized by the AKC, I saw the AKC Gazette “cover dog” and had to learn more. Shortly thereafter, I had the opportunity to meet the first AKC Champion Cavalier, Ch. Wye Rebound of Rattlebridge aka Rebound.  Although I’d never thought I’d have a toy dog, I was absolutely smitten.  We got our first Cavalier, still my heart dog, Ch. Rattlebridge Ditto Master CD just 2 years later.

Helen Jesse, the other half of O’Skot and I have bred/shown 20+ Champions and have one ROM dam. Always up for a challenge, O’Skot is now focusing on whole colors in our breeding program.  Over the past 30 years, O’Skot has mentored many Juniors and worked to support the ACKCSC Charitable Trust. I am currently serving in my 13th year as Corresponding Secretary for the ACKCSC and am past President of the Newnan Kennel Club and the CKCS Club of Greater Atlanta. In my spare time, I still enjoy showing the O’Skot dogs, especially from the bred by class!

I am honored to have the opportunity to judge Junior Showmanship and Sweepstakes at the ACKCSC 25th Anniversary. Good luck to all exhibitors!
