Cardiologist: Dr. Kelly Wessberg, DVM, DACVIM
Dr. Kelly Wessberg was born and raised in Waukesha, WI. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for both her undergraduate degree and veterinary school. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Biochemistry in 1994 and her DVM degree in 1998. Following veterinary school, Dr. Wessberg completed a one year small animal internship at a private veterinary hospital in Mesa, Arizona. She then went on the complete a residency in cardiology at California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles under the guidance of Dr. Stephen Ettinger. She obtained her board certification in the specialty of cardiology (ACVIM- Cardiology) in 2004. After her residency, she remained on staff at California Animal Hospital. Dr. Wessberg moved back to the Midwest in 2005 to be closer to family. She was employed by Veterinary Specialty Center (VSC) in Buffalo Grove, IL from 2005 until December 2013. Following her employment at VSC, she joined VCA Aurora Animal Hospital until June 2015. She started at Premier Veterinary Group in July 2015, where she is currently employed as a staff cardiologist.
Opthamologist: Dr. Adam King
“Dr. Adam King received a BS in Animal Sciences from Purdue University in 2007. He went on to the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he earned his DVM degree in 2011. After completing a rotating internship at the VCA Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle in 2012, Dr. King moved to Fort Collins, CO where he completed both his Ophthalmology residency and MS in Clinical Science at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in 2015. Dr. King became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in August 2016.
Aside from his work in veterinary medicine, Dr. King spent several summers interning at the American Kennel Club and AKC Canine Health Foundation while he was an undergraduate and veterinary student, and has been a breeder and exhibitor of Havanese and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers at AKC dog shows for the past 15 years. “
