The Canine Good Citizen Tests provide a good opportunity for Cavalier owners to demonstrate the versatility of their Cavalier(s), and, in conformity with the Breed standard, show that the dog is fearless and sporting in character, yet, at the same time gentle and affectionate.  Cavaliers should be able to demonstrate that they are gay, friendly, and non-aggressive, with no tendency towards nervousness or shyness. Bad temper, shyness, and meanness are not to be tolerated and are to be so severely penalized as to effectively remove the specimen from competition. These characteristics are tested by the CGC test.

CGC Workshop Information

At the 2017 National Specialty, the ACKCSC will offer a hands-on workshop to teach the skills required for the CGC and Advanced CGC. This workshop will allow participants to ask questions and observe procedures, to practice the necessary skills with their dogs, and to experience a performance setting with assistance on how to proceed and perform each test successfully.  The Workshop is by Pre-registration through the ACKCSC On-line One Stop Shopping site www.ackcsc.org
